Research Interests

I am interested in lower extremity biomechanical adaptations following orthopedic injury and surgical interventions. My research applies concepts of motor adaptation and learning to investigate the ability to restore symmetrical knee mechanics during gait following anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. This work will inform clinical practice in understanding this population’s ability to optimize knee loading and reverse maladaptive gait patterns at different time points across recovery. This work will also inform treadmill-based gait training interventions with the goal of preventing persistent gait deficits.
