Funding Acknowledgement

What is the correct wording for CTCP Funding Acknowledgment?

When California Tobacco Control Program (CTCP) contractors create an educational and/or media material with CTCP funds, a statement acknowledging the funding source is required. Please use the following as a guideline on proper acknowledgment language for different types of materials.

Educational Materials

Educational materials developed with CTCP funds must include the following wording:

© 2010. California Department of Public Health. Funded under contract #XX-XXXXX.

Media Materials

Media materials (e.g. billboards, TV ads, radio ads, etc.) may have an abbreviated version of this acknowledgment:

Funded by the California Department of Public Health.

In addition, media materials must acknowledge the agency that is placing the advertisement.

Campaign Advocacy/Incentive Materials

For campaign advocacy materials or incentives, the acknowledgment may be omitted, if there is a space limitation, or if the attribution interferes with the image of the piece. If space allows either acknowledgment can be used:

Funded by the California Department of Public Health.

© 2010. California Department of Public Health. Funded under contract #XX-XXXXX.
