About
PTMLA offers local service-learning opportunities for USC DPT students to engage in their own communities. These events typically come in two forms:
- Presenting Physical Therapy as a healthcare profession to young students
- Presenting Physical Therapy as an option in healthcare to the community
These events are meant to provide DPT students with the experience and professionalism to promote the importance of our profession and consider what role PTs play in the healthcare system. In addition, these events bring awareness of Physical Therapy to the community and inspire the next generation to enter the workforce. We have participated in a number of events in the form of presentations, workshops, career fairs, and wellness tables at community events.
DPT Students
PTMLA Community Outreach events are an official Service Learning Experience that can count towards your required Service Learning hours. If you have recently participated in a PTMLA community outreach event, you can find the service-learning form here.
