An interdisciplinary research group dedicated to understanding the science and improving treatment of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder
Established in 2021 by Adam Frank, MD, PhD, the lab focuses on improving understanding and treatment of OCD through qualitative and quantitative approaches, with a focus on the intersection of technology, psychiatry, and neuromodulation.
Research Areas
Data from wearable devices and ecological momentary assessments provide windows into the lives of individuals outside clinician visits. Such continuous information can lend insights about imperceptible lifestyle differences of individuals with OCD compared to healthy controls.
Data collected through multiple modalities improves confidence during clinical decision-making. Apart from benefiting patients, the analysis of large multi-modal datasets can be leveraged to streamline healthcare operations and reduce healthworker stress by identifying organizational bottlenecks.
Improving clinical outcomes for those receiving transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) is critical. Research on data-informed and individualized treatment for both TMS and Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) will contribute ongoing improvements in care for individuals with treatment-resistant OCD.
