ANN-SONIC 11th
International Workshop on Network Theory
“Networks in Translation: Moving Network Research into Social Practice”
March 21 – March 23, 2024
University of Southern California
Wallis Annenberg Hall
The theme of this year’s ANN-SONIC Network Theory Workshop is “Networks in Translation: Moving Network Research into Social Practice.” Translation is the problem-oriented, practical process of turning insights obtained in a laboratory, clinic or community into interventions or policies that improve the well-being of individuals and communities. With this in mind, invited speakers are leaders in publicly engaged network scholarship — i.e., those who draw on network theory and/or methods to address pressing social problems — and, in so doing, are in the position of engaging in translational work to make their research relevant to affected individuals, communities, and public leaders. Although the public issues that these speakers dedicate their research to are important in their own right, the primary purpose of the workshop is to shed light on the translational processes they engage in to address those issues.
