Current Members

Frank Attenello, MD, MS, Principal Investigator

Dr. Attenello is an Associate Professor of Neurosurgery at the Keck School of Medicine of USC and LAC+USC Medical Center specializing in treatment of primary and metastatic brain tumors. He received combined BS/MS degrees in Molecular Biochemistry and Biophysics from Yale University. He then received his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, completed neurosurgical residency at the University of Southern California, and finished his postdoctoral fellowship in tumor genetics at the University of California, San Francisco.

Krutika Deshpande, MS, PhD, Senior Research Associate

Krutika is a Senior Research Associate in the lab. Before joining the Attenello Lab, Krutika received her Ph.D. in Medical Biology from USC and then went on to work as a Scientist in the biotech industry for 2 years. Her research experience and interests are focused on elucidating mechanisms of spread and chemo-responsiveness in primary and secondary brain cancers.

Kristie Liu, MS, Medical Student

Kristie is fourth-year medical student at the Keck School of Medicine and recently finished up her research year. She received her BS in Biochemistry from UCLA and MS in Biomedical Research from the University of Navarra.

Jane Han, MS, Medical Student

Jane recently finished her third year of medical school at the Keck School of Medicine and is currently in her research year. She received both her BS in Biochemistry and MS in Molecular Genetics and Biochemistry from USC.

Tammy Doan, MS, PhD Student

Tammy is an incoming PhD student in the Molecular Medicine program. She received her BS in biochemistry from the University of Washington and MS in Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine from USC.

Eugenia Turino, BS, Master’s Student

Eugenia is a first year master’s student in the Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine program. She received her BS in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from UC Davis.
