Clinical Exercise Lab Facility

The 2400-square-foot state-of-the art facility is equipped for metabolic, cardiovascular, pulmonary, body composition, bone density, strength, and physical function testing. The CERC has a full line of resistance exercise machines and free weights for conducting resistance-training studies. The CERC is extensively equipped, including selectorized leg extension, leg curl, lat pull down, seated row, and multi-station machines, a plate loaded leg press and biaxial chest press, smith machine and power rack, 3 Power Plate vibration platforms, and dumbbells.

The CERC is also equipped with 3 ParvoMedics TrueOne 2400, 3 portable metabolic units to determine oxygen consumption and caloric expenditure, and 4 treadmills and 4 cycle ergometers (including 3 Keiser M3 bikes) to assess VO2max and work output; a GE iDXA dual-energy x-ray absorptiometer (DXA) scanner to assess bone density and body composition; 3 Biospace InBody bioelectrical impedance analyzers; balance beam scales, stadiometers, etc.
