CKIDS kicked off with DataFest Spring 2019, bringing together faculty from interdisciplinary data science programs at USC to create joint collaborative projects.
Faculty and students formulated a variety of projects, including social networks and individual characteristic in multiplayer games, data science for social impact, community-level data analysis, environmental data science, and data science related to health.
DataFest participants will meet regularly during the semester. DataFest projects enable students to gain skills by solving real-world problems, learning to use state-of-the-art data science tools, and working with faculty who have domain expertise in those problems.
A final presentation for all the projects will be held at the end of the semester.
