Director
Barbara Sargent is an Associate Professor of Clinical Physical Therapy. She is director of the Development of Infant Motor Performance Laboratory (DIMPL). DIMPL is dedicated to the study of infant motor learning and motor control to inform the early identification and intervention of infants at risk for neurodevelopmental disabilities.
PhD students
Nora Almoadi, PT, MS (almoadi@usc.edu) is a PhD student in the USC Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy. Her dissertation research investigates the locomotor exploratory behaviors of infants born preterm and full-term to inform early walking interventions. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy and Health Rehabilitation from Jouf University, Saudi Arabia, and a Master’s degree in Health Science from Concordia University.
Ai-Tzu Chan, OT, MS (aitzucha@usc.edu) is a PhD student in the USC Division of Biokinesiology and Physical Therapy. Her research interests include infant motor learning and motor control to inform early intervention for infants born preterm. She has a Bachelors and Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from Chang Gung University, Taiwan.
