About Discovery Project
The Discovery Project at USC was launched in 2019 to provide rising high school-age students the opportunity to explore different areas of academic study alongside college faculty and advisors.
The 2019 program invited students from the Neighborhood Academic Initiative (NAI) and the Mirman School to pursue independent courses of study in the fields presented by USC Professors, while building on acquired skills in computer science. This self-guided exploration of academic material allowed for student ownership of their learning.
The 2022 Discovery Summer program will expand the access to middle and high school students across the nation, and will continue to focus on topics across the disciplines: Engineering, Art, Philanthropy, Politics, Medicine, Business, Sports, and Artificial Intelligence, and more!
The program is supported by a USC Provost grant and directed by faculty from the USC Price School of Public Policy, Viterbi School of Engineering, and Rossier School of Education:
