The USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center is partnering with the Stand Up to Cancer Foundation to increase awareness about cancer in the black community, and discuss strategies for cancer control through a new Faith In Cancer Equity Tour.
During this program, we will partner with the African American faith community to engage in dialogue and discussion about how to maintain and protect our health. The faith community is an important part of our neighborhoods and the principles of faith, equity, and hope were used to develop the Faith In Cancer Equity program. Join us as we partner with our church families throughout Los Angeles to lift up our communities with information, education, and hope for health and equity.
Our Mission
The Faith In Cancer Equity Awareness Concert aims to bring these critical issues to the forefront of the Black community’s mind. By combining the powerful influence of faith with essential healthcare information, we seek to:
- Raise Awareness: Educate the community about cancer risks, prevention, and the importance of early detection.
- Promote Advocacy: Encourage participation in clinical trials to ensure diverse and representative data that can lead to better treatment outcomes for all.
- Foster Unity: Unite the community through music and shared experiences, reinforcing the collective strength needed to combat cancer disparities.
