Join Artist Bhavna Mehta, Artist-in-Residence Ted Meyer, and Leila Darki, M.D. in a discussion about Art and Medicine.

Polio survivor Bhavna Mehta writes, “When I emigrated from Ahmednagar, India to the US 30 years ago, my X-rays were stuffed into my suitcase in case of future medical emergencies. Finding them decades later is like finding my body buried beneath layers of silence. Just like an X-ray reveals the unseen architecture of a body, a story can unearth the shifting language of our experiences. Stitch by stitch, bead by bead, I want to expand and extend the image of bones and organs into a narrative space.

Dr. Leila Darki is an Assistant Professor in the Neuromuscular Division, in the Department of Neurology, at the University of Southern California.
