Dr. Erroll G. Southers is an internationally recognized expert on counterterrorism, public safety, infrastructure protection, and homeland security. Previously, he served as California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Deputy Director in the California Office of Homeland Security and Chief of Homeland Security and Intelligence for the Los Angeles World Airports Police Department. Prior to this, he was a Special Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and also worked seven years as a police officer with the Santa Monica Police Department. He holds Doctoral and Master’s degrees from USC and earned his BA from Brown University.

Dr. Southers lectures throughout the world and has appeared on major news outlets, numerous documentaries, and shows. He hosts Price Projection Room, a podcast about film and television featuring conversations with USC scholars and media industry leaders discussing visual storytelling, media literacy, diversity, and the public good. Among his many distinctions, Dr. Southers was recognized in Security Magazine’s Top 25 Most Influential Industry Thought Leaders in the United States and is a recipient of the Earl Warren Outstanding Public Service Award.

Spencer P. Boyer is currently director of the Washington office of the Brennan Center for Justice, where he advances the Center’s federal advocacy strategy on major democracy, justice, national security, and civil liberties issues. Previously, he served as the national intelligence officer for Europe in the National Intelligence Council, the center for long-range strategic thinking within the U.S. intelligence community, and as a deputy assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. He is a graduate of Wesleyan University and received his JD from NYU School of Law, where he specialized in public international law and the work of international organizations.

Among his many career distinctions, he has been a senior analyst and visiting scholar at numerous think tanks, including the Center for American Progress, the Center for Transatlantic Relations at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, and the Brookings Institution. Boyer has been a guest analyst with numerous news outlets, and is frequently quoted in print and online media around the world.
