Lab Overview

Plasticity, a hallmark property of stem cells, allows their appropriate differentiation during development and adult tissue homeostasis. It also underlies various cell fate changes involved in tissue regeneration and disease. Our laboratory explores epigenetic control mechanisms regulating cell plasticity. One of the fascinating challenges in epigenetics is to understand how cells integrate extracellular stimuli to influence the chromatin structure and gene expression in order to establish or change cellular identity.

To study this, we employ cutting-edge experimental and computational approaches, using the mammalian intestine as a model system. The resulting insights will aid in organ regeneration and replacement therapies.
