The mission of the Learning, Development, and Rehabilitation Lab is to advance the science underlying early rehabilitation intervention for infants and children, with a focus on promoting development, participation, and inclusion for children with physical disabilities.
Research in the lab aims to understand early perceptual-motor skills, everyday experiences, and learning processes in infants with typical and atypical motor development, and to develop interventions that promote exploration, learning, and global development in children with neurodevelopmental conditions like cerebral palsy and Down Syndrome.
Our work is highly interdisciplinary and integrates developmental psychology, movement science, and rehabilitation science.
The lab is committed to maintaining a diverse, equitable, and inclusive environment and to promoting scientific careers of individuals from underrepresented backgrounds, including individuals with disabilities.
