Research Interests
The acute inflammatory response to exercise has implications for performance, recovery,
and chronic inflammation in athletes, older adults, and clinical populations. Therefore, I
am interested in the acute inflammatory responses to the varied physical demands of
exercise, and how diet may alter these responses. I am examining the differences between
relatively higher-impact (running) and lower-impact (cycling) high-intensity interval
training protocols. This research will provide information on exercise and diet
prescription to modulate inflammatory responses for optimal health.
