Former MS and Medical Trainees!
Mohammed Arfan (2021-2022)
2021 – 2022
Arfan completed his Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering in India from BMS College of Engineering and began his career at Siemens Healthineers as a Research Engineer-Systems. There, he designed and developed electro-mechanical/optical systems and innovative ideas for new instrumentation platforms needed to measure biological phenomena for precision medicine and point of care diagnostics research. After working at Siemens Healthineers for a while, he moved to the United States, where he earned his Master’s in Electrical Engineering from USC in December 2022. During his time at USC, he worked at MADLAB on colorimetry for paper-based sensors. Following his graduation, he moved to the Bay Area to join Apple as a Concept Prototyping Engineer for their Next-Gen Computing group. His expertise lies in systems prototyping, with extensive R&D experience in device design and pre-development settings within both the consumer electronics and medical device spaces. He has a strong technical background and hands-on experience in building electro-mechanical and electro-optical systems and concept prototypes. Outside of work, he enjoys playing basketball and building things for fun. One of his most memorable projects was constructing a full-size electric three-wheeler. He’s always excited to connect with new people and discuss innovative ideas, so feel free to reach out!
