How did you choose this location?

“Por la comida, la gente viene a comer y mientras esperan la comida, unos 10 minutos, ellos me compran.” For the food, people come eat and while they wait for their food, some 10 minutes, they shop with me.

A local street vendor likes the location because of the food. People go eat and while they wait for the food, 10min, they browse and shop his stall. He sells construction tools.

 

DESIGN

How did you choose this setup design?

“Porque la gente le gusta ver para abajo cuando van caminando y asi van viendo las cosas.” Because people like to look down when they walk and this way they see (my) stuff.

A local street vendor chose to put his items on the ground because people look down when they are walking and browse through items.

 

How did you decide on street vending?

“La necesidad.” The need. 

The need. Because of her age, a local street vendor cannot get another/different job. She earns very little as a vendor, however, she needs extra cash for herself. Her husband pays the major bills, utilities, and rent, but she needs extra cash for herself.
