Christopher G. Rowan PhD, is a pharmacoepidemiologist, biostatistician, and outcomes researcher by training. He is the Founder and President of Collaborative Healthcare Research & Data Analytics (COHRDATA). His research vision is to generate real world evidence (RWE_, using real-world data (RWD) that healthcare decision makers (i.e., patients, providers, payers, and regulators) and industry partners may use to guide evidence-based decisions.
Chris is experienced conducting observational research using large electronic health record (EHR) and health insurance databases. He has experience in pharmacoepidemiology, comparative effectiveness research, comparative safety research, comparative healthcare expenditure research, predictive modeling, methodologic investigations, health services research, and health economic impact modeling. His research proficiencies include study design, research methodology, statistical analysis, causal inference, and interpretation of observational research.
Chris has a strong publication track-record. Some of his recent publications include: comparative effectiveness/safety studies in diabetes, nephrology, cardiovascular and autoimmune diseases; predictive modeling studies in COPD and hypertension; and methodologic investigations involving propensity scores and an assessment of the validity of EHR prescribing data.
Chris received his Doctor of Philosophy in Epidemiology with a minor in Biostatistics from the University of Pennsylvania – Perelman School of Medicine, Department of Biostatistics and Epidemiology, Center for Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics (CCEB). He received the Saul Winegrad award for outstanding dissertation. Chris conducted a pre-doctoral fellowship at the FDA in the Division of Drug Risk Evaluation. He serves as a regular reviewer for Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety and other journals.
