For this project my original goal was to create a product with design features that  interfere with the intended use of the object. I had a few ideas, such as twisty, bendy spoons and impossible to use cups.
But my favorite (and most popular) idea was bubble wrap that didn’t pop. Admittedly, it doesn’t meet the criteria from above but it is kind of funny. At first I thought about lightly casting resin around actual bubble wrap. But ultimately I decided to 3d print a mold and cast with resin.
The 3d print came out perfect. The first cast went well, however I feel the thickness of the base really detracts from sensation of  bubble wrap. It feels like it could actually be used to safely pack material, which is a plus.
When trying to “pop” the wrap, there is a sensation slight disappointment and dissatisfaction, which was the effect I was attempting to achieve.
The second attempt was a bit more satisfying, and by that I mean unsatisfying. The base is thinner and feels more reminiscent of bubble wrap.
