Love: A Rock
I love this stone. It’s a polished Blue Lace Agate, aka Blue Chalcedony. I bought a bunch of smalls stones to give as gifts this past Christmas but loved this one so much I kept this one for myself. It cost somewhere between $8 and &12.
I’ve been attracted to stones for as long as I can remember. My stones and crystals are among my most “valuable” possessions. But there is something special about this stone that I can’t describe. I’m transfixed by it and always want it nearby. The combination of the color and the opacity makes it reminiscent of something ethereal I can’t quite place, familiar yet forgotten, like a memory from a childhood dream.
Surprise: Rainy Day
I was surprised to wake up to a whole rainy day on Monday. I love fall, winter, and rainy days. I find the overcast comforting and pleasant and feel we don’t get nearly enough of them, though I know most would disagree.
It seemed like spring was on on the march, so it was a nice surprise to have one last taste of a wintery day. The downside is that the fun ends when you have to get out into it. As luck would have it, I had places to be across campus that day, so Monday was a wet socks kind of day. Literally the worst.
But once I got home for the day, it was nice to have the window open and listen to the rain.
