The idea for this project is a handwarmer is warmed by its nest. The egg is rockite that is casted into the same mould I had for my anger project. Originally, it was meant to be heated up by a plate placed underneath the egg, but it was not making enough contact and heat wasn’t transferring fast enough for the egg to keep warm. So then a slot was cut into the egg so that the heat could be transferred to the center of the mass instead of from the outside.
The nest is knitted using the knit machine. Ideally, the heating unit would be embedded in the nest, and it would heat up the egg when it is placed inside the nest.
