Nervous Applications

It’s that time of the year. My peers have started to received their job offers and here I am saying since December I will start to apply “soon”, once I get my portfolio “in order”. The biggest change this year is that my path had shifted drastically from my undergrad to masters, in the most exciting way. In the past I was familiar with the processes, firms and connections that I had built in undergrad, but now I am in unfamiliar territory, not knowing where to start. One thing that really helped was talking Trent last semester, he gave me a list of studios that all seemed really fun to work with. That was where I started this week, rewriting cover letters, trying to making my “skills and experience” sound better than they might actually be, and nervously clicking that “send” on mail, or “apply” on their websites.
