In my head, tension and nervousness feels very similar. It’s a feeling of being between a beginning and an end, a moment that is so still and has so much potential. This project tries to capture that moment of stillness through a static object capturing this tension.
The first idea was a tangle of knots held in tension by magnets. Then, maybe a metal bar that is lifted into the air, but a small push could make it fall.
Then, maybe a magnet that is attracted, but is leashed just enough so that it can’t fully reach the other surface. It balanced a point between enough attraction that it doesn’t fall, but so much that it stretches the tape/wire/string in order to get what it wants.
