I love it when I’m surprised

Because it is my last semester in school (forever!!!) and in LA, I have decided to spend as much time as I can with my family and friends. I have a very close relationship with both of my parents and want to maximize the time I have with them and at their house before I move away.

The way we spend time together is by going to Disneyland – it is our designated “family time” and my parents’ excuse to “exercise” and go for a walk. Often times, it’s an excuse to walk off the calories of the ice cream they want to consume. More often than not, we share ice cream together — but the cashier gave us an extra scoop this past week and a lot of whipped cream. Although getting ice cream together is a regular occurrence, getting an extra scoop for FREE was a pleasant surprise that I got to share with the people that I love.

I am of the belief that love for an object or a thing is because of the association that we have with it. I often have an affection for certain things because a person I love has given it to me or thought of me. In a way, surprise and love goes hand-in-hand for a lot of my experiences with products.

On another note, I got surprised the other day by running a yellow light and seeing the red light traffic cam flash. And that, I did not love.  However, I have LOVED the fact that I haven’t seen a ticket in my mailbox the last two weeks.
