This flower was suppose to invoke surprise by “blooming” when you picked it up. The design had the nitinol flower attached to a tilt switch and a battery. When the flower lays down it is in a bud state, and when its picked up the tilt switch is enabled and the flower opens.
The first nitinol I purchased was not malleable at all which led me to have to build a bending apparatus over the weekend to try and get the nitinol to bend.
Afterwards I realized it actually didn’t respond to voltage at all so I borrowed Trent’s nitinol and made another flower. That being said, I wasn’t able to wire the entire thing before class, but I will still able to construct a blooming flower!
