Charcuterie Board

.

For my anger project I chose to make a Charcuterie Board out of cement. However, using this Charcuterie Board is extremely frustrating to use because of its composition. In order to activate the feeling of anger I decided to focus on making something very aesthetically pleasing but something that is not very functional. I made a wave like form them I angled it on a platform. Although it is beautiful, it is not functional because of its size and geometric shape and structure. One thing that is incredibly angering is that it is at an angle, therefore food slides off. Additionally, because of the wave form there are very few places where food can be placed. Lastly, this board must be hand washed adding further inconvience and frustration.

This project is made using a 3D printed mold, a cup, cement, cement securing glue, and a food sealant so that one can eat what comes in object with the board.  To make this Charcuterie Board I 3D modeled and then printed a mold. Then after making a cement mixture I poured the mold into the 3D printed mold and the cup. After the cement was firm I removed the cement from the molds and attached them to each other using the cement glue. Then I sanded away the excess glue and sealed it with the food sealant. One thing I would do differently and did not account for the first time is account for the expansion when I pour the cement into the mold. Because I did not account for this to happen the sides were uneven in their weight. To resolve this I had to sand down the one side to make it more balanced in its weight.
