We Together Wove Our Truths
We Together Wove Our Truths is a “translation” of the Declaration of Independence into ten poems, accompanied by annotations and essays. The work is meant to reaffirm what Lincoln called our “ancient faith:”
We hold these truths to be self-evident; that all men are created equal; that they are endowed by their creator with certain unalienable rights….
Especially from the perspective of marginalized groups who have held to that faith and struggled in its name.
