Robert Boyd is the Executive Director of the Secure Schools Alliance, a non-profit focused on improving the security infrastructure, security technology and life safety systems of America’s K-12 public schools. For the last decade, as an executive at several national and local education related nonprofits, Mr. Boyd directed operations for organizations supporting public schools, including Donorschoose.org and the National Alliance of Public Charter Schools. Most recently, he served as Senior Advisor to the Board for the Community Education Building (CEB), a private operating foundation in Wilmington, Delaware.
Mr. Boyd previously chaired the Public Safety Committee of the City of University Park, Texas, as well as served as Chief of Staff to Congressman Harold Ford Sr., in the New York City Mayor’s Office of Economic Development, and as a paid staffer on numerous local, state and federal campaigns.
Mr. Boyd holds a bachelor of arts from Brown University, a Master of City and Regional Planning from Harvard University, and a Master of Divinity from the Perkins School of Theology at Southern Methodist University. He holds Certificates in Clinical Pastoral Education (Chaplaincy) from Parkland Memorial Hospital and Charter School Leadership from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Mr. Boyd is also an Advisor to Domestic Preparedness and serves as Co-Chair of the Homeland Security Task Force of the American Legislative Exchange Council.
