The Supporting Health Interventions and Nicotine Education (SHINE) Research Lab is led by Denise D. Tran, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences within the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California. To learn more about joining our team, click here.

- March 2024: Dr. Tran presents her research at the Society for Nicotine and Tobacco Research (SRNT) in Scotland!
- March 2024: The SHINE Lab is awarded research stipends via the USC 2024-2025 Undergraduate Research Associates Program to provide support to our RAs!
- January 2024: The SHINE Lab welcomes Clara Mintzer as our newest Undergraduate Research Assistant!
- October 2023: The SHINE Lab welcomes its new Undergraduate Research Assistants, Valen Lu and Tanishka Khanduja!
- August 2023: We are actively recruiting research assistants to help conduct our online research study. The start date is as soon as January 2024. See “Join the Team” to learn more about how to get involved in our lab.
- August 2023: The SHINE Lab’s website is officially launched!
- March 2023: Dr. Tran receives funding from the National Institute of Drug Abuse to develop an online intervention to address e-cigarette use and risk for future cigarette smoking in young adults!
