I invite applications for a postdoctoral fellow position in my group at the National University of Singapore. The fellow will work on a project titled “Quantum Photonics for Superresolution Confocal Fluorescence Microscopy” under my close supervision. The main tasks of the fellow will include
- developing a theory of fluorescence microscopy based on quantum optics and quantum information,
- collaborating with experimentalists on the experimental design and implementation of the quantum-inspired measurements, and
- performing statistical analysis and image processing with the experimental data.
More background information can be found at https://sites.google.com/site/mankeitsang/news/rayleigh/faq.
The annual base salary will be 60,000-66,000 Singapore dollars, depending on the candidate’s qualifications. Medical insurance will be provided. The start date should be no later than 1st December 2019. The initial contract will be 12 months long and extensible by mutual consent; funding for the position and the research activities has been secured until 31st March 2024.
The applicant should have a PhD degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline, a strong track record in theoretical quantum optics and quantum information research, and proficiency in the theory of statistical inference. Experience in image processing and collaboration with experimentalists is highly desirable. I will also consider applications from strong quantum optics experimentalists.
The applicant should email a curriculum vitae, a publication list, and a one-page statement of research interest to firstname.lastname@example.org. Shortlisted applicants will be informed; they should then arrange three reference letters to be emailed to the same address. The position will remain available until filled; please check https://sites.google.com/site/mankeitsang/postdoctoral-fellow-position for any latest update and email me if you have any question.
