Postdoc Positions in Quantum Information Theory, Institute of Photonic Sciences (IFCO), Castelldefels, Spain

ICFO-The Institute of Photonic Sciences is offering three postdoctoral positions to well-qualified, highly motivated and dynamic young scientists who wish to enhance their scientific careers in a friendly and stimulating environment.

The successful candidates will be joining the Quantum Information Theory group led by Prof. Dr. Antonio Acín. The group has experience in the design of quantum information protocols, with an emphasis on quantum cryptographic applications, the study of quantum correlations and the application of quantum information concepts to other fields, such as the study of many-body systems and quantum thermodynamics.

The hired researchers will be working in the project “Certification of quantum technologies”, recently awarded by the European Research Council (ERC). We are looking for scientists with different profiles and covering different research directions, such as the study of many-body systems and their connection with quantum information theory, the certification of quantum annealers and simulators, the characterization of quantum correlations, and the design and analysis of quantum communication and certification protocols. Candidate should ideally have a proven track record on at least one of the previous research questions.

The contract is offered for periods of one year, renewable for a total of up to 5 years. The earliest starting date is 1 January 2020.

The formal application should be submitted online via http://jobs.icfo.eu/?detail=452 by 25 November 2019.

Candidates may contact jobs@icfo.eu for informal enquiries regarding the application, as well as address scientific enquiries to antonio.acin@icfo.eu.
