2022 Tenure-track Faculty Positions in Quantum Information Science, Perimeter Institute, Waterloo, Ontario

Perimeter Institute invites applications for one or more tenure-track faculty positions (equivalent to the level of assistant professor) in quantum information science. Exceptional candidates may also be considered for a tenured senior faculty position. We welcome applications from outstanding individuals working on aspects of quantum information related to fundamental physics. The successful applicant will play a leading role in integrating Perimeter’s quantum information activities with other research areas at the Institute such as quantum matter theory, quantum foundations, quantum fields and strings, holography, and tensor networks. These positions are in part related to the Quantum Matter Initiative at Perimeter. As part of this initiative, Perimeter is also searching to fill a tenure-track faculty position in quantum matter theory.

Perimeter Institute is a leading global centre for fundamental research in theoretical physics. It is home to world-class research efforts in condensed matter theory, cosmology, mathematical physics, quantum fields and strings, quantum foundations, quantum gravity, quantum information, and particle physics. The Institute offers an exceptional research environment and is currently staffed with 24 Faculty (including 8 Perimeter Research Chairs), 21 Associate Faculty (including one Perimeter Research Chair), 36 Distinguished Visiting Research Chairs, 59 Postdoctoral Fellows, and 44 Visiting Fellows. The Institute’s very active visitor, seminar, conference, and workshop programs attract over 1,000 visitors each year.
