We are looking for highly motivated, excellent candidates with a master’s degree in physics or related fields, to advance our research in the field of quantum optomechanics.
The Quantum Optomechanics group at the Niels Bohr Institute specializes in measurement, control and conversion of the motional quantum states. We have pioneered mechanical systems with exceptional coherence which allow reaching new regimes in this endeavor, in terms of sensitivity and efficiency.
We now seek PhD student(s) to support the exploration of novel applications in quantum sensing and information processing, including measurement-based state preparation, entanglement-enhanced measurements, mechanical quantum memories and electro-opto-mechanical conversion. The research is embedded in the Center of Excellence “Hybrid Quantum Networks Hy-Q,” whose mission is to merge disparate quantum system into large scale quantum networks.
We are looking for individuals enthusiastic to acquire, apply and advance their scientific skills within a dynamic international team. Experience in the fields of experimental and theoretical quantum opto- or electromechanics, nanomechanics, and ultralow-temperature techniques is a plus.
Employment date is March 15, 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter. The application deadline is February 15, 2020. For more information, or to apply online, click here.
