USC’s Information Sciences Institute (ISI), a unit of the university’s Viterbi School of Engineering, is a world leader in the research and development of advanced artificial intelligence, information processing, computing, cybersecurity, and communications technologies. ISI is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar – Research Associate. This is a 1-year, fixed-term position, with possibility of a 2rd year extension. This Postdoctoral Scholar – Research Associate will be conducting research in the area of quantum machine learning.
Job Duties will include:
- Designing, implementing and training different types of Boltzmann Machines
- Programming a D-Wave quantum annealer to train Temporal Restricted Boltzmann Machines (TRBM)
- Analyzing and testing the performance of the TRBM
Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Physics or Computer Science
- Working experience in machine learning, in particular Boltzmann Machines
- Working knowledge of Python and Matlab
Experience on quantum computing is not required, but some basic knowledge would be beneficial and preferred.
