- Theo Tsotsis will be presenting a plenary talk titled “REACTIVE SEPARATIONS WITH INORGANIC MEMBRANES: TRANSITIONING FROM FUNDAMENTAL STUDIES TO PRACTICAL APPLICATIONS” at the 17th International Symposium on Inorganic Membranes (ICIM 17). This is the premier technical meeting for all researchers working in the area of inorganic membranes and their applications. It takes place every two years, and this year’s meeting takes place in Florianopolis, Brazil, the week of July 1st. One of the other plenaries at the meeting will be presented by Dr. Aadesh Harale, of ARAMCO, a former member of the Group (PhD, 2008).
- Razieh is the recipient of the esteemed Merit Award for Current Doctoral Students. Her research focuses on a critical challenge: developing a method for high-purity hydrogen production from biogas. Razieh leverages advanced software (Python, MATLAB, etc.) to create simulations, design systems, and analyze data, effectively bridging the gap between theory and real-world application. Her leadership extends beyond academia. As Project Manager, she led a groundbreaking $5 million+ hydrogen project for the California Emissions Company. This role demanded skillful management of a diverse team, fostering collaboration and maximizing each member’s expertise. She ensured the project’s successful completion through meticulous planning, clear communication, and proactive risk management, culminating in a functional hydrogen system at the Victorville, CA, energy hub. This award recognizes both her impactful research and her exceptional leadership skills. Razieh’s unwavering dedication positions her to contribute significantly toward a cleaner, more efficient future.
