Principal Investigator
Dr. Zaro is an Associate Professor of Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Sciences department at the Alfred E. Mann USC School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
She received her B.S. in Chemistry from Stockton University and earned her Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from USC. She has leadership experience in academia, where she has held roles including Director of Core Facilities and Assistant Dean of Assessment of Graduate Education and Postdoctoral Studies at USC Mann, and Assistant Dean of Assessment and Scholarship at West Coast University. She also has previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry, where she led the design and development of aerosol formulations and protein drug analytics.
Dr. Zaro’s current research focuses on targeted drug delivery methods for recombinant fusion proteins. She is majorly working on developing novel protein-drug conjugates as effective drug delivery systems and improving existing delivery tools for diseases not limited to diabetes, cancer, and infectious disease.
