This project continues work done in previous semesters to research and document advanced MLOps functionality provided in the major commercial and open source platforms. This semester, we will be focusing on the Google Cloud Platform Vertex AI platform. Specific topics that we will be researching are:
- Hyperparameter tuning
- Model deployment
- Feature stores
- Model monitoring
- Metadata, experiement tracking, and lineage
Our specific objections for the spring 2025 semester are to develop demonstrations of these MLOps functions and write a paper or book chapter on MLOps functions. This material will be used for a new class that is currently under development.
This project needs 5-7 students . Required background is having completed ISE-543 (or a strong knowledge of cloud analytics platforms) and an interest in MLE (Machine Learning Engineering).
