The Summer School will be held at the University of Southern California (USC) in Los Angeles, CA. USC is one of the world’s leading private research universities, known as a global center for arts, technology, and business. USC is home to the Viterbi School of Engineering, which is comprised of eight separate departments. Additionally, Viterbi houses the Robotics and Autonomous Systems Center (RASC), which is an interdisciplinary organized research unit that focuses on the science and technology of effective, robust, human-centric, and scalable robotic systems. RASC represents the organized research efforts of 16 Viterbi faculty towards creating autonomous robotic systems.

USC consists of four campuses spread throughout the Los Angeles area: the University Park campus, the Health Sciences campus, the Institute for Creative Technologies, and the Information Sciences Institute. The summer school will be held on the largest of the four campuses, the University Park campus, which houses the Viterbi School of Engineering and its associated research labs. The University Park campus is an urban campus centrally located in the heart of Los Angeles. It is served by multiple bus routes and the Exposition Metro light-rail line.

Los Angeles is a vibrant and widespread urban area, including restaurants, theaters, museums, theme parks, and shopping plazas. Within a short distance are numerous other schools, including in or near Los Angeles: University of California-Los Angeles, California Institute of Technology, University of California-Irvine, University of California-Riverside, Pepperdine University, and several campuses of the California State University. There are also numerous high-tech firms in LA, concentrated in the area known as Silicon Beach in west LA.
