Directions

Los Angeles is served by several international and domestic airports: Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Ontario International Airport (ONT), John Wayne Airport (SNA), Hollywood Burbank Airport (BUR), and Long Beach Airport (LGB). LAX is the closest airport to USC and is also the largest airport in Los Angeles, being served by approximately 75 carriers.

From the Los Angeles International Airport, USC is accessible by car, taxi, or bus. Taxi fare from the airport is about $30-50 and a ride will take between 20 minutes (during non-rush hour) to 60 minutes (during rush hour). The bus fare from any two points in the network is $1.75, and a ride from LAX to USC will take, under normal conditions, about 80 minutes. Transportation options for accessing USC and the Los Angeles area will be provided to the summer school attendees, along with the city map.

Parking

Attendees commuting to the summer school should park in the Downey Way parking structure, entering the campus at the Downey Way entrance (Gate 6), shown on this map. Parking is $12/day, and you need to pay the gate attendant when you enter the campus.

Transit

The USC campus is conveniently located on the Expo Metro line (Expo/Vermont and Expo Park/USC stations). This Metro line travels from Santa Monica to downtown Los Angeles, allowing attendees to explore the greater LA area. There is currently construction on this transit line in downtown LA with buses servicing the last two stops. Please refer to the map below for information on how to use the shuttle buses to travel into/from downtown LA.
