Call for Abstracts
The Southern California Healthcare Delivery Science (HDS) Center invites abstract submissions for the 2024 Healthcare Delivery Science: Innovation and Partnerships for Health Equity Research (DESCIPHER) Symposium. The theme of this year’s symposium is Health Systems’ Partnerships to Address Health Equity: Bridging the Gaps to Health Equity Through Cross-Sector Partnerships.
This symposium brings together researchers, healthcare leaders, patients, and other stakeholders from diverse sectors to explore how collaborations can improve health equity. It aims to foster dialogue, generate new knowledge, and identify actionable solutions for creating a more equitable healthcare system for all.
A special focus is on the social determinants of health (SDOH) – the conditions in which people are born, live, learn, work, play, worship, and age – and how they impact health outcomes.
Topics include but are not limited to the following:
• Innovative partnerships: How can health systems collaborate with housing, education, transportation, and environmental agencies to address upstream factors that influence health?
• Addressing SDOH: What strategies can health systems and partners implement to collaboratively address specific social determinants like food insecurity, access to healthy environments, and social support networks?
• Measuring success: How can we effectively measure the impact of cross-sector partnerships on health equity and develop sustainable solutions?
Submission Guidelines:
Abstract Submission Opens: June 24, 2024
Abstract Submission Deadline: August 12, 2024
Abstract Acceptance/Rejection Notification: September 16, 2024
Submission Details:
Abstracts should contain the following sections and not exceed 250 characters total:

● Discussion/Significance of Impact
Preferred Presentation Type: Poster, Oral, or either
Disclosure/Conflict of Interest: Yes, No (free text for disclosure if yes)
