Help Us Improve Diagnostic Tests of Hearing

Who:
We are especially interested in adults and children (age 10 or older) who meet any of the following:

  • Were born with hearing loss or experienced hearing loss beginning in childhood
  • Have received chemotherapy for cancer
  • Have received rounds of antibiotics for surgeries or longstanding infections
  • Have been exposed to loud sounds during their careers (e.g., construction, music, military)
  • Have been diagnosed with Meniere’s disease

What:
The ear makes sound while listening to sound! You sit quietly while we measure the “echoes” produced by your ear in response to sounds presented through earbuds.

  • Testing involves 1 or 2 visits
  • A copy of your hearing test is provided
  • Most tests involve simple listening; no responses are required
  • Participants are compensated and free parking is provided

Where:

  • USC’s Health Sciences Campus

When:

  • Tests are scheduled at your convenience
