The Fourth Bamboo in the Urban Environment Symposium will examine the trends in bamboo construction and to identify gaps and obstacles in existing practice, as well as explore expert guidance on how research and development on these could best be prioritised to better serve the bamboo construction community.
The virtual symposium will be conducted as a Zoom seminar hosted by Newcastle University (NU). Running for four – 150 minute sessions over four weeks in September-October 2021, each session will focus on a specific topic:
Materials and Systems Testing and Grading
Connections for Bamboo Structures
Fire Performance and Durability of Bamboo Structures
Engineered Bamboo
