Symbiosis, a biological relationship in which different species live in physical contact and establish permanent mutualities and two-way dependencies, is approached as a cooperative method of survival in the Anthropocene. Challenging human exceptionalism and extractivist practices perpetuated by humans, this design-research stream focuses on the design of systems supporting future symbiotic mergers and cultivating new degrees of intimacy between humans and our co-species.
