PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis) can prevent transmission of STI’s if initiated shortly after unprotected sex.
PEP regimens may include antibiotics or medications to prevent viral transmission, as in the case for HIV prevention. For potential HIV exposure, PEP should be started within 72 hours after a recent possible exposure to HIV.
PEP regimens can be prescribed by medical providers at USC Student Health. Contact us by phone or MySHR to arrange care.
