The Abdominal Organ Transplant Program at USC has been in operation since 1996. The program provides the following services: deceased and living donor liver transplants for adults and pediatrics, deceased and living donor kidney transplants for adults and pediatrics, adult pancreas transplants, and hepatopancreaticobiliary surgery.
The multidisciplinary team includes transplant surgeons, hepatologists, nephrologists, and specialized liver transplant anesthesiologists. We have a designated transplant ICU, where we work closely with transplant nurses and our critical care colleagues, to give the best care to both pre- and post-transplant patients. The multidisciplinary team also includes: transplant coordinators, social workers, financial counselors, dietitians, and support staff.
The program is an ASTS Accredited Fellowship for both liver & kidney transplantation and HPB surgery. It is a two-year fellowship and we have four fellows — accepting two fellows per year.
