Whole Cell Patch Clamping

Noninvasively modulating neural signaling in CNS and PNS will advance our understanding of neural circuits and their effect on homeostasis and diseases. Herein, we have developed a focused ultrasound probe attached to an acoustic waveguide to stimulate neurons/nerves during whole cell patch clamping procedure. This technique can elucidate the mechanisms that ultrasound modulates neuronal signaling and guide the design of non-invasive devices for clinical applications.
