About the Center

The Center for Emerging Pathogens at USC (CEP) was founded in response to a growing need within our communities for expert guidance in emerging infectious disease threats. This is a platform to coalesce USC’s multidisciplinary strength and leverage our clinical and academic expertise to support communities as they navigate infectious disease outbreaks.

As part of its outreach effort, CEP partners with non-profit organizations – over 100 so far – across the world and continues to expand its reach globally, whether it be providing COVID-19 response guidance to US-based non-profit organizations, or supporting initiatives like WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) at state health departments in Africa.

The mission of CEP is to create safe and healthy communities by serving populations across the world. Our motto is ‘Collaborate to Prepare for a Safe & Healthy Tomorrow’.
