Postdoc positions in quantum information and quantum computation at the Technical University of Munich

Applications are invited for several Postdoctoral Research Associate positions in Quantum Information and Computation at the Department of Mathematics of the Technical University of Munich, Germany.

The positions are with the group of Robert König and Cambyse Rouzé. The group belongs to the research unit mathematical physics at TUM and is run jointly with that of Michael Wolf. Topics of interest include but are not limited to the design of quantum algorithms, quantum memories, quantum advantage experiments, quantum fault-tolerance, device certification and classical simulation algorithms. The positions are funded in part by the ERC project “Enhanced quantum information processing targeting the near tearm” (EQUIPTNT), the Munich Quantum Valley, as well as the Munich Center for Quantum Science and Technology.

Applicants should

  • be mathematicians, theoretical physicists and/or computer scientists
  • have a strong background and special interest in theoretical aspects of quantum information processing/quantum computing
  • be willing to contribute to undergraduate math education.

The positions are available starting around January 2022. Candidates will be considered until all positions are filled. Applications (sent to sekretariat-m5@ma.tum.de with the subject line “Postdoc search 2022”) should include a CV, a short research statement, a list of publications and the names and contact details of senior scientists who could provide letters of recommendation.
