About

The USC TRIO Upward Bound Math/Science program was launched in the Fall, 1991. The Program is sponsored by the U.S Department of Education and provides the following services to students who are low-income, first-generation, limited English proficiency, students from groups that are traditionally underrepresented and students with disabilities. The program is designed to strengthen the math and science skills of participating students. The goal is to help students recognize and develop their potential to excel in math and science skills, and to encourage them to pursue post-secondary degrees in STEM professions.

Services provided include: summer residential programs with intensive math and science training; year-round counseling and advisement; Saturday Academy exposure to basic skills in English writing/composition, math and SAT Prep.; exposure to university faculty members who do research in math and the sciences; and computer science training.
